The
Official Website of the New York
Cowboy
Despite his Brooklyn
birthplace, it
was the family trips to North
Carolina
and the Country & Western stations he heard on the radio that
marked every
note that came out of Michael’s mouth with a country twang.
"Even my Christian
Contemporary songs come out
Country," laughs Night. "I’ve always loved
music and Country
music in
particular. Man, can they tell some stories! That’s why
I’ve been so diligent
about learning my craft, learning how to play piano, and guitar as well
as
working the controls in my basement recording studio."
The professional touch
is paying off. Michael recently taped
a segment of the PAX TV hit show Nashville ON
Stage with his crowd pleasing song "Lose ol’
Frank."
The ON
Stage producers fell in love with
the concept of a black cowboy from Brooklyn,
and seeing
Night’s good looking 6’5" athletic frame in person
caused them to comment,
"that all of Nashville
would
do well to take notice." And take notice it did! Michael caught the eye
of
Jonell Plansky, the multi-talented producer behind Tim
McGraw’s triple platinum
hit "Tickin’ Away." Plansky has put the
full force of her DaCapo
Music studio behind Night to produce the master recordings for three of
the songs in his vast repertoire.
Recently
signed to Lariat Records, Michael Night is busy
working on his next album. So you can expect to
be hearing a lot more from The New York Cowboy very soon…
